On behalf of Mr Nick Clement, NRS Orthopaedic lead, we would like to welcome you to Edinburgh in November. This NRS MSK meeting is an opportunity to bring together orthopaedic clinicians, academics, trainees, and research partners from across Scotland to share current work, inspire collaboration, and explore future priorities for orthopaedic research within the NRS framework.
Registration is open from 09:00 where teas and coffees will be provided before we start the sessions at 09:30. Registration for the event is free and any access requirements or dietary requirements for lunch can be included in the registration details.

I’m very pleased to invite you to the first in-person meeting of the Research Network which has been scheduled to coincide with the morning of the first day of the Autumn SSR meeting. To allow some members to attend the BIGOS meeting the research meeting has been scheduled to start at 9.30am on Thursday 6th November at the Stirling Court Hotel
The programme for the meeting is:
- Scottish Orthopaedic Research Network – Mr Nick Clement, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, NHS Lothian
- Plans for Paediatric Rheumatology Research Network – Dr Eve Smith, Clinical Senior Lecturer in Paediatric Rheumatology, University of Glasgow
- NIHR MSK-Translational Research Collaboration – Professor Stefan Siebert, Professor of Inflammation Medicine and Rheumatology, University of Glasgow
There will also be time to allow discussion about future network activities and other ways it might support rheumatology research in Scotland
